You Tell Me?

Year 9 pupils from Archbishop Tenison's School have taken part in an audio guides project in response to Lapdogs of the Bourgeoisie the group exhibition at Gasworks.
Over the course of three workshops, the pupils made close readings of the works in the exhibition and engaged in discussions exploring issues around class structures in the art world. Through a series of practical, discursive and text based activities, pupils developed their interpretations of the exhibition and challenged their expectations of interpretation devices by working alongside adult volunteers in recording their own audio works.
The outcome of this project is a series of collaborative audio responses available to the public during Lapdogs of the Bourgeoisie. The audio guides were available alongside a display of text based works made during the project and drawings made in art lessons.
