About the Education Programme
The Education and Outreach programme encourages engagement with Gasworks’ programmes and aims to increase access to all Gasworks’ activities. Through developing projects based around Gasworks’ exhibitions, the Education and Outreach programme offers workshops tailored to the needs and aspirations of particular local groups, offering insights into themes and ideas presented within contemporary art exhibitions and issues surrounding the curation and presentation of exhibitions.
The programme also provides opportunities for local groups to work alongside international visiting artists; offering participants first hand access to the skills and knowledge of an emerging international artist. This unique perspective on an artist’s practice allows participants to gain access to processes in contemporary art. Visiting artists are encouraged to enter into dialogue with people of varying cultures and backgrounds offering an excellent opportunity for mutual exchange.
We welcome approaches from local organisations who would like to participate in Education and Outreach activities. Gasworks continues to build upon strong community links and produce outreach activities which are an occasion for enjoyment, learning and new opportunities for all involved.
