The focus of the exhibitions programme is on visual arts practice in its broadest sense, including design, documentary filmmaking and media practice, amongst other areas of activity. These are all linked by a commitment to constantly reassess the position of artistic practices within their wider cultural, social and political frameworks.
The exhibitions are accompanied by related activities varying from artists' presentations and critics' talks, to participatory projects organised by the education and outreach programme to widen access for younger audiences, families and community groups.
Occasionally, the exhibitions programme collaborates with the residency programme in the realisation of projects created within a residency context.
The exhibitions programme benefits from its link to Triangle Arts Trust’s international network of artist-led projects and organisations. Through the network, the programme is able to showcase practices from a wide diversity of contexts, often looking beyond the typical parameters of Western Europe and North America. Artists are presented on the critical basis of their individual practices and the ways in which they engage with and challenge international artistic discourses.
Admission to all exhibitions is free and the space is fully wheelchair accessible.
