Saturday 25 June, 12-6pm

For the Open Studio Weekend, artist in residence Catalina Bauer (Chile) presents a series of photographs of drawings, entitled No me detengas/ Don't Stop Me. Join us to meet the artist and discuss her practice. On Friday night, visitors also have a chance to attend a curator's tour of the current exhibition - The Work of the Spirit by Tamar Guimarães. On Saturday, there will be a guided tour of Bauer's studio.

At the centre of Catalina Bauer's practice are experiential processes rooted in daily routines and relationships. Using drawing as a focusing mechanism, Bauer explores the medium's limits in gestures where the mechanical and the organic overlap and intertwine. Often working with groups of people, Bauer's research has taken a more introspective form during her stay in London, concentrating on her own body as a known territory in an unfamiliar context.

Catalina Bauer lives and works in Santiago, Chile. Her residency was made possible thanks to a partnership with BECA AMA.
