Visit the artists in residence in their studios, and hear about their research and work-in-progress, ranging from sculpture and installation to video and performance.
The artists will also make some of their recent projects and research available on our website for those who are unable to visit.
With artists: Bronwyn Katz (South Africa), Kent Chan (Singapore), Renata Molinari (Argentina) and Chigozie Obi (Nigeria).
During her residency at Gasworks, Katz plans on continuing her research around notions of land, memory and systems of notation which gesture to ancestral language and potential imagined languages.
During his residency at Gasworks, Chan will develop a project that pushes real-world observations of climate change towards the fictional scenario of a future global tropic.
During her residency at Gasworks, Molinari will continue a project based around objects fabricated with or related to human hair, with a specific focus on the tradition of Victorian mourning jewellery.
During her residency at Gasworks Obi plans to continue the series, Le Journal de Gozie (Gozie’s Journal), which will document her journey from Lagos to London and back.
