We are now accepting applications from artists based in the UK for a fully funded, 7-week residency at Kiosko, Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Gasworks’ International Fellowships Programme offers UK-based artists the opportunity to undertake a residency at one of Gasworks’ partners abroad. This programme is funded by Arts Council England.
Applicants are required to submit a research proposal (up to 300 words) illustrating how they might approach the residency and what they hope to achieve. The panel will be looking for well developed, context-specific proposals.
The selection panel will be looking for flexible, context- specific and self-directed proposals.
About the host organisation:
Kiosko Galeria is an independent artist led space, established in 2006 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Kiosko seeks to disseminate and promote contemporary art in Santa Cruz and operates as a platform for both national and international art, design and editorial work through its International Residency Programme for artists and curators (the first of its kind in Bolivia).To date Kiosko have hosted over 150 exhibitions, 100 residencies and numerous events and workshops.
The Fellowship Comprises:
- Accommodation provided: a private bedroom with private bathroom, air conditioning and a shared living and kitchen space.
- Studio provision: the shared studio is an open, multi-purpose space combining a kitchenette, living and the studio space.
- Basic living expenses
- Materials budget
- Economy return flights
- Local travel budget
- Public event/s as agreed with the host organisation such as Artist Talk or Open Studios
- Administrative and peer support is also provided for all participating artists
(NB: travel insurance is not covered.)
